Click here 12 January 2023Cr Matthew Blackmore, Mayor of Strathfield After an enormous year at Strathfield Council as your Mayor, it was good to have a break with my family over Christmas. I hope you enjoyed some time with your family and friends, had a chance to reflect on the year that just passed and had an enjoyable Christmas & New Year. The year ahead will be important for the future of Strathfield. We have spent most of last year reviewing council's operations and staffing structure. We have put together a more efficient and practical foundation for our organisation to help to move us into the future. Some of the initiatives you will see this year include launching the Strathfield Council app and stage one of the council's street tree pruning program. There will also be improvements to our street sweeping and a big focus on the essential delivery of services, particularly the maintenance of our footpaths, roads and parks. If you have any local matters that you would like to discuss, please reach out to me on 0428 952 095 or cr.mblackmore@strathfield.nsw.gov.au. Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. Bring the family along to celebrate Australia Day at Strathfield Square. It's an opportunity for us to reflect, respect and celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people. Celebrations will include a traditional Smoking Ceremony and didgeridoo performance, a special screening of the film Happy Feet and plenty of free family fun!
