New Funding Opportunity from Inspire WA Inspire Washington is the state-wide advocacy organization for the cultural sector, promoting the value of science, heritage, and arts programming within every city, town, and hamlet. Washington just concluded a historic State Legislative Session in virtual Olympia – $50 million dollars was allocated for cultural businesses (non-profit and for-profit businesses of all sizes, in every county) and critical legislation was passed to support cultural infrastructure, recovery, programming, and arts education. Through the Department of Commerce, businesses with budgets under $5 million will be able to apply for operational grants of up to $75,000 and institutions with budgets over $5 million will be able to apply for funding for COVID safety expenses. Inspire Washington is excited to visit communities across the state for a share and listening tour, providing a thorough legislative overview and directions for accessing funding. This is an eligibility grant for non-profit and for-profit businesses of all sizes, in every county. Applications are accepted the last two weeks of June. Call for Proposals: Research in Creative and Cultural Industries Rethinking the relationship of creative economies and societies beyond the framework of traditional “creative industries”, this series aims to reflect the interplay of human creativity, ideas, intellectual property, knowledge and technology. Inclusive and diverse, it’s open to emerging research and insights from different fields, bridging the perceived gap between the “academics” and “professionals” in the field(s), and introducing new and diverse voices from different parts of the world to critically discuss theories and practice in the global creative economy. With a concise length of 20-40,000 words, the short format suits a wide range of research approaches and subjects such as: • In-depth case study of a specific sector or organization • Update of a research paper to reflect new findings or wider perspectives • Exploration of theoretical and/or practice innovations • Topical critiques of timely issues and debates impacting the field • Research-based guidance for practitioners and/or policy makers • Focus on specific regional contexts and priorities. Applications Now Open - Clayco Future Leaders Fellowship The Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) is proud to be a center for training young professionals in all aspects of opera, including arts administration. The Clayco Future Leaders Fellowship supports and cultivates future arts leaders and administrators from backgrounds historically underrepresented in opera and arts administration, particularly those who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color). OTSL's Clayco Future Leaders Fellowship Program provides in-depth experiences that advance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities that make these careers possible. Fellows serve in a full-time position specializing in one area (Advancement, Artistic Administration, or Administration) while gaining knowledge in a range of essential functions across the organization, including artistic administration, fundraising, marketing, audience cultivation, and business administration. Through this fellowship, OTSL seeks to introduce a diverse group of young professionals to the issues, challenges, and rewards of running an arts organization, whereby developing successful arts administrators who represent the diversity of our communities and who will add to the vibrant future of the opera field. All Fellows will receive a full-time salary, benefits, a relocation and transportation stipend, and professional development.
