Open Education Updates 

Our OER Production team continues to post completed, BCcampus-funded works in the B.C. Open Collection such as the Fundamentals of Nursing Pharmacology: A Conceptual Approach - 1st Canadian Edition and Technical Writing Essentials - H5P Edition.

Soon, the newly released Canadian-focussed open textbook Introduction to Criminology will also be added to the B.C. Open Collection. See this JIBC blog for more on that project. For faculty who elect to use this book in the classroom, please let us know via the adoption form.

For those who have been following the news about ChatGPT, Chat GPT and Open Education will interest you if you've been wondering how generative AI overlaps with open education.

💻 Digital Literacy Project: Call for Open Content

BCcampus is seeking content submissions for the collection that fulfill the requirements of the eight areas of digital literacy thematic competencies identified in the ministry's Digital Learning Strategy: ethical and legal consideration, technology supports, information literacy, digital scholarship, communication and collaboration, creation and curation, digital well-being, and community-based learning.

💻 ETUG Spring Workshop Presenters

ETUG - the Educational Technology Users Group - is seeking presenters for their upcoming spring workshop held on June 1 and 2, 2023, at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Richmond Campus. This year's theme is Futureproof Learning Design: The Integration of Digital Literacy, Inclusive Tech, and AI. 

In this two-day workshop, ETUG will showcase how instructors, education developers, and education technologists are approaching design. If you're interested in presenting on the topics of digital literacy, inclusive technology, and artificial intelligence, please submit your proposal by Saturday, April 1, 2023. 

Presentations will be given in-person at KPU Richmond.

💻 Expression of Interest: Curriculum Writers

In partnership with Women and Gender Equality Canada and the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, BCcampus is providing project management on the Intersectional Sexualized Violence Project, which focuses on the impacts of sexualized violence on specific student populations, including Indigenous, international, and graduate students.

The next phase will focus on the adaptation or development of sexualized violence training resources based on the findings of the environmental scans. BCcampus is seeking qualified individuals to work with us and the Intersectional Sexualized Violence Advisory Group on the development and/or adoption of openly licenced sexualized violence training resources and facilitation guides.

💻 Professional Learning in the Early Childhood Sector in B.C.

BCcampus is seeking experts in early childhood education and curriculum development to submit proposals and help develop professional learning for ECEs across the province.

Successful applicants will be offered contracts valued at up to $100,000 for their work. Payment will be tied to deliverables based on the service contract.
