Hi

We hope this finds you well, and enjoying the warmer weather we've been having. Though it may be holiday season, we're beavering away (albeit with windows open and fans on high-speed modes) to solve our clients' marketing challenges.

We've got lots of insights and news to share this month, so let's jump in, shall we?

This month's email covers:

  • ChatGPT ads have arrived in the UK
  • What IS copywriting?
  • Keeping audiences engaged on LinkedIn
  • The Marketing Optimist sponsors local martial arts team
  • Measuring the Impact of SEO

ChatGPT ads

ChatGPT ads have arrived in the UK

We signed up to be part of the Beta test so that you can take a look at how it all works before anyone else. It’s the very early stages for ads and AI search, so ChatGPT ads are bound to change in the future.

However, because ChatGPT ads are so new, getting in early could give your business an early mover advantage before everyone else jumps on board.

Read our blog for the low down on the current state of ChatGPT ads.

What is copywriting?

What IS copywriting?

The key to marketing success. Next question.

Just kidding. In my latest blog “What is Copywriting” I explore:

  • The fundamental and critical role of copywriting in marketing
  • It’s applications
  • What a copywriter actually does
  • Our approach to crafting optimised content and how this marries with SEO
  • Why Copywriting is key to marketing success

If your organisation doesn’t put a lot of thought into copy, drop everything, and have a read.

LinkedIn Engagement

How do you keep audiences engaged across a multi-phase LinkedIn campaign?

For Sharp Consultancy, we didn’t just run a campaign for the 2026 Young Accountant of the Year Awards – we told a story.

From January to April, that story unfolded in chapters. So we started at the beginning (as all good stories do): nominations open, criteria explained, everything clear, and nothing complicated. Then moved into the human side – judges sharing what makes a winner and finalists stepping into the spotlight.

Next, we built a sense of nostalgia and inspiration, with past winners showing how the award can shape careers - proving it’s more than a trophy, it’s a launchpad.

As the event approached, momentum grew. Countdown content built anticipation, leading to a high-energy finale: winners announced, reactions pouring in, and a buzz that carried beyond the night itself.

Six storytelling pillars tied it all together, creating one connected narrative. And it worked. A 67.9% average engagement rate, more nominations and stronger visibility for one of Yorkshire’s leading accountancy awards was achieved.

Measuring the impact of SEO

In our last few emails, we’ve been sharing our SEO Guides. So far, you’ve seen our guide to Keyword Research and Page & Content Optimisation.

This month, the all important measurement element: Our Guide to SEO Reporting.

Reporting differs enormously across the sector, from agency to agency. Our approach is to give clients the critical metrics that show them where they sit in their search landscape, web metrics that reveal the impact our work is having on-site, an overview of how their site performed that month and their visibility in search.

No PDF’s full of bumph. No pointless heatmaps. Just what counts. And this shows in our guide. Dive in to learn more about SEO reporting, and our approach.
