Gender Equality EverydayActivism and respect
The recent 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign designed to unite people and take action to prevent gender-based violence. The campaign started on November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and ran to December 10 (Human Rights Day), with Gippsland’s campaign ‘Let’s Chat’ offering a whole lot of activities and opportunities that got us all thinking, talking, and working out what we can do better. CRC TiME and Innovation Breakfasts
Broadening Horizons and the NET program
Gippsland took centre stage in a room of global experts on mine rehabilitation. Local leaders had the opportunity to share the challenges and opportunities in planning mine closure and transitioning to a positive new-energy future. Convened at Federation University in Churchill, the 3-day CRC TiME Annual Forum kicked off at the Gippsland Innovation Breakfast held at the Morwell Innovation Centre. A packed room heard a diverse range of perspectives. A consistent theme was the need to put people and community the heart of transition. Throughout the conference held at Federation University delegates and speakers spoke candidly about the competing interests for mine operators, community and government during transition. Topics included water use, industry growth, regional development, cultural outcomes, and supporting the intrinsic relationship First Nations people have with country.
