Junior School NoticesTerm 2 Week 1
Dear valued member of the PLC community, Welcome back to all our Junior School families. I hope you had a relaxing Easter holiday, and the girls were able to spend time outdoors, playing with friends and enjoying family time. It's hard to believe that we are already beginning Term 2. We are excited to have our students back in the classroom and ready to learn. We are
looking forward to a busy and productive term, filled with new challenges, exciting opportunities, and plenty of fun along the way. We will continue to work closely with families to ensure that every child has the resources and support they need to succeed. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. Let's make Term 2 a great one.
ANZAC Day ServiceOur first day back commenced with our whole school ANZAC Day Service in the Swim and Recreation Centre. I was very proud to see the girls listening so respectfully during this significant event. I would like to give a special thank you to our Junior School Leaders, Sofia Lambo and Charlotte Gilmour, who read the poem A Brown Slouch Hat. I would also like to take the time to acknowledge our
dedicated Service Leaders, Ruby Carlson and Emily Weaver, who laid the wreath.
Welcoming Our New Junior School StaffWe would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs Kristen Gray, our newly appointed Kindergarten Teacher, and Miss Georgie James, our newly appointed Education Assistant, who will be working in the Kindergarten from now until the end of the year. They are both looking forward to meeting families over the coming weeks. We are also thrilled to have Mrs Kiera Appel, working as an Education Assistant in Year
2 to provide further support with literacy and numeracy programmes alongside Mrs Helen Tutin.
Years 1 & 2
Nature Challenge
Climb a TreeThank you to the students (and families) who participated in our Climb a Tree holiday challenge, to climb a tree or build a cubby. I received some wonderful photos over the holidays, and it was great to see the girls spending time outside.
Kind regards, Geraldine Drabble
Head of Junior School
During the first term break, I was able to revisit my homeland for the first time in ten years. Since that intervening decade, there are still struggles to recover from the effects of its long-running civil war. Furthermore, Sri Lanka recently descended into chaos as the economy totally collapsed, due to governmental failures on a massive scale, leaving the vast majority of the population destitute.
