Our General Manager, Michael Mamo and Director Planning and Environment, Clare Harley joined me to discuss vital environmental concerns in our Local Government Area. We are confident that her department and action from the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) will be instrumental in addressing all the issues raised. Our multicultural spirit was on full display last week as we celebrated Indian Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony at Council, accompanied by representatives of our Indian community. I was also honoured to represent Council at the Independence Day function in the city, where I had the pleasure of engaging with Consul General Manish Gupta and his wife Nameesha. Multicultural Day at Strathfield Girls High was a true celebration of diversity and inclusion on Friday last week. The impressive displays of music, song, dance and mouthwatering tastes of various cuisines highlighted our rich cultural tapestry. I am so proud of our communications team for their dedication and exceptional efforts in organising the screening of the FIFA Women’s World Cup matches and finals at Strathfield Square during the past month. This event not only had a wonderful atmosphere, but it also united our community as we cheered on the fabulous Matildas. Well done and thank you again. Let us continue to embrace these moments that bring us together and strengthen our community bonds. As always if you require any help or information, please contact the office or email me on cr.kpensabene@strathfield.nsw.gov.au Book Week 2023 at Strathfield Library It's that special time of year when schools, daycare centres and libraries all over Australia celebrate all things bookish!
