Join a Club on the Lower North Coast
SLSNSW is excited to release the recruitment video that we recently produced to assist the Lower North Coast branch with volunteers this season. Many of our small and regional clubs are struggling for numbers this year, so it is hoped this campaign will help encourage locals to pull on the red and yellow and lend a hand.
We would like to spread the word as far as we can, so please share the video across social media and let's help our fellow clubbies.

Take 3 for the Sea are relaunching their Take 3 for the Sea Surf Life Saving Club program to empower clubs and their members to take proactive steps to protect our beaches and clean up our oceans.

Call for Officials Nominations: 2024 Country and State Championships
SLSNSW is calling for nominations from accredited officials wishing to attend the 2024 Oakberry Acai NSW Country Championships and/or the 2024 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships.
Nominations close Sunday 8 October for Country Champs and Sunday 15 October for State Champs.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

The Surf Life Saving Foundation has made fundraising for Clubs a whole lot easier! Your club can have its own dedicated Lottery web landing page and receive 50% commission on all tickets sold through it. Australian Sports Commission Local Para Champions Programs
The Local Para Champions program is designed to provide financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability. Funding of between $750 and $1000 for individual applicants is available, to contribute towards the cost of participation in the nominated championships.
Applications close 31 October 2023.
NSW Government Community Building Partnership 2023
The NSW Government Community Building Partnership 2023 is now open, closing 27 October 2023.
This program offers funding between $5,000 and $150,000 (average grant awarded is $20,000) for:
- Capital works including construction of new community infrastructure as well as refurbishment, repair and maintenance of existing community infrastructure;
- The purchase of freestanding equipment;
- The purchase of vehicle(s) e.g. cars, buses, trucks, trailers, rescue vehicles incl. boats and modifications to existing vehicles.
Australian Sports Commission Local Sporting Champions Programs
The Local Sporting Champions program is designed to provide financial assistance for young people aged 12-18 years participating in state, national or international level sporting championships, as either an athlete, coach, umpire or referee. Funding of between $500 and $750 for individual applicants is available, to contribute towards the cost of participation in the nominated championships.
Applications close 31 October 2023.
NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program
The NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program is opening soon. The program assists NSW Surf Life Saving clubs to develop facilities that will enable increased facility usage, improve safety and increase participation in Surf Life Saving.
Clubs and Branches looking to apply are encouraged to commence gathering required approvals and documentation ASAP. As soon as the new guidelines are released, we will distribute the details.
