WHO hosted the inaugural meeting of the WHO Youth Council from 27 to 30 January in Geneva, bringing together representatives from 22 diverse youth organizations from health and non-health backgrounds. PMNCH youth leaders David Imbago, Lucy Fagan, Gareth Jones and Bhavya Nandini participated in the sessions. They introduced the adolescents' well-being framework, the Global Forum for Adolescents and the 1.8 Billion Young People for Change Campaign to the participants of the Council.

PMNCH is excited to announce that we are in the pilot phase of launching the Digital Advocacy Hubs - the world's most comprehensive digital advocacy platform for women's, children's and adolescents' health and well-being! The platform will offer our partners access to high-quality and timely knowledge and information, an opportunity to develop greater skills, networks, and capacities and improved access to PMNCH advocacy campaigns.

In response to a summary of the views expressed by over 1.2 million women and girls from the What Women Want campaign in a paper called Honoring Women’s Demands, PMNCH Health Care Professional Associations constituency, COINN, FIGO, ICM, ICN and IPA have developed a response committing to concrete efforts to address women’s demands for quality and respectful care as a joint, cross-professional effort. They also call on other stakeholders and PMNCH constituencies to support this effort.

This handbook from WHO and UNICEF helps implement the Nurturing care framework. The Framework sets out what children need to reach their full potential and the policies, services and public awareness necessary to support them.

This month, I’m proud to spotlight Plan International, a key member of the PMNCH Partner Engagement in Countries committee and NGO constituency that strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls by working with young people and partner organizations in nearly 83 countries. Plan International drives policy change at local, national and global levels using its reach, experience and knowledge.
With PMNCH partners, Plan International has been instrumental in developing and launching the global #Adolescents2030 campaign. The campaign successfully drew attention to the health and well-being of young people globally and the various factors that jeopardize it. As a key campaign outcome, PMNCH partners committed to hosting the Global Forum for Adolescents in October 2023 as part of the new #1point8 Billion Young People for Change campaign.
