Delivering egg-ceptional Easter support

This Easter we hopped to it, supporting a record 1,163 households across the state in a single day. To put that into perspective:

  • Foodbank Albany: 88 households
  • Foodbank Bunbury: 177 households
  • Foodbank Geraldton: 196 households
  • Foodbank Kalgoorlie: 44 households
  • Foodbank Peel: 151 households
  • Foodbank Perth: 507 households

We're honoured we could support these families but this record demonstrates a sobering reality – food stress is a significant issue in our state. Recognising this isn't a sustainable situation, we’re committed to advocating for change. We'll be sharing these statistics with decision-makers to raise awareness about the challenges faced by Western Australian families.

Together, we can create a future where empty plates aren’t an Easter tradition. Thank you for helping us get food to those who needed it most this Easter.

Breakfast at school, 500 times over

For Emma, a single mom with two growing boys, the rising cost of living feels like a constant juggling act.

School fees are one thing but new shoes, lunches and the endless field trips keep adding up. By the time everything's paid, groceries feel like a luxury, let alone filling lunchboxes.

Emma's story isn't unique. Thousands of Western Australian families face the same struggle. But in more than 500 schools across the state, our School Breakfast Program is feeding hope, one breakfast toasty at a time.

Never-ending nutritious meals

A simple ingredient, like a can of chickpeas, can provide a never-ending list of nutritious meals. Chickpea burgers, chickpea salad and a zesty chickpea couscous are just some of the recipes you can make with the humble can of chickpeas.

Check out recipes just like those and a whole bunch more, crafted by our nutritionists.

If you like what you see there and would like to host a nom! program in your community, our nutritionists would love to work with you. Learn how to create endless meals from your everyday pantry ingredients.

Bringing food relief to Forrestfield

We’re partnering with Gosnells Community Legal Centre to bring relief to Forrestfield families. Our Mobile Foodbank will be stationed at the Woodlupine Family Centre every Wednesday at 1.00pm, offering affordable food and groceries to those doing it tough.

Packed with fresh produce and essential pantry staples, our affordable food and grocery packs are designed to take the pressure off household budgets without compromising on nutrition. We don’t believe families should have to choose between a healthy diet and their rent or mortgage, and we’re making sure they don’t have to.

Easier access to Foodbank

Imagine having empty cupboards, a rumbling stomach, but no way to get to help. For 16% of people facing food insecurity, limited transportation is a cruel barrier.

That’s why we’ve worked hard to secure a bus route direct from High Wycombe station to Foodbank Perth. This handy public transport option joins our network of Mobile Foodbanks and regional branches to make healthy food more accessible.

This is Leah's story

From freefall to hope

You hear stories about life turning upside down in an instant. Leah doesn’t just hear about it; she lives it.

A motorcycle accident ripped her husband Steve from work, leaving him with a brain injury and their family in financial freefall. Medical bills mounted, the family business folded and hungry mouths loomed.

Our updated branch hours

We understand the importance of flexible options, especially during times of financial stress. That's why we extended our Thursday hours over the Christmas and back-to-school periods.

While we've returned to our regular hours of 9.00am to 3.00pm at our Perth branch, our commitment to our community remains strong. From our new Forrestfield location to our growing network of charity partners, we’re constantly expanding our reach to ensure food gets to where it’s needed most.

Thank you to our incredible charity partners for making that happen.

Celebrating Women CEOs in the charity sector

Female CEOs are no longer breaking through glass ceilings. They’re actively reshaping the landscape of leadership.

From social justice to environmental conservation, Western Australia’s leading charity CEOs are proving that compassion and strategic vision go hand-in-hand.

This week, let’s learn about the inspiring women who are building a brighter future, one impactful initiative at a time.

30 years of feeding change

From one warehouse to a statewide network, we've grown since 1994.

Last year alone, we provided over 9.2 million meals to Western Australians in need. But we're more than just plates. We teach healthy habits, fight food waste and empower communities.

Join us as we look back at our history and celebrate 30 years of feeding change, filling bellies and fuelling futures.
