Summer School Holiday Program and Christmas Fun

Can you believe that December is only a few days away?!

Once again, we will be giving back to the Casey community with our annual Deliver Joy Campaign. We are collecting donations from now up until January so be sure to drop your items into any one of our five libraries.

We will be celebrating Christmas in the library with some special Christmas Evening Storytimes, as well as visiting Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre for a Christmas Crackers Storytime!

Bookings for our school holiday programs open on Monday 11 December, 9am. Put this date in your diary as these FREE events are popular and will book out quickly!

All libraries will also be closed tomorrow- Thursday 30 November for a staff professional development day and our libraries will have reduced opening hours from Christmas Eve up until Friday 12 January. Check our website here for the summer hours for each of our libraries.

There's still time to Deliver Joy

Have you made a donation to one of our chosen five local charities yet?

We are collecting non-perishable food items, toiletries, and new (unwrapped) toys in their packaging to donate to each of these charities. Simply drop the items off at your favourite library by Christmas Eve.

Bunjil Place Library is collecting items for Transit Outreach Service.
Cranbourne Library is collecting items for Community Information and Support Cranbourne.
Doveton Library is collecting items for Manna4Life.
Endeavour Hills Library is collecting items for The Andrews Centre.
Hampton Park Library is collecting items for St Vincent De Paul Society- Berwick Soup Van.

If you have a lost or damaged library item from Connected Libraries, visit your local library and make a donation to a local charity and we’ll waive any charges.

Marketing and Branding Workshop

Join Krystian Ostrowski, Brand Strategist at Storytime Studios, for a workshop on crafting and marketing a new brand.

Storytime Studios is a creative agency that focuses on building brands and helps people understand and implement brand strategy.

Participants will use the agency's Brand Strategy Kits to build and develop a confident story, strategy and style that stands out from the crowd.

No experience needed, just bring a pen, paper, and a buzzing brand idea!

Christmas Storytimes with the library

Join us as we read some of our favourite Christmas stories at the Endeavour Hills Shopping Center!
Bring your jingle bells and reindeer antlers and sing along to some Christmas carols and get messy with some Chrissy crafts.

We will also be holding a fun, festive evening of Christmas songs, stories and rhymes.

Wear your PJ's or favourite Christmas clothes as we jingle bell rock and celebrate Christmas down under at this special night time storytime.

The Big Summer Read


Did you know that kids in grades 3-5 lose about 20% of their school year gains in reading when they don't read over the summer holidays?

The Big Summer Read encourages kids to keep up their reading over Summer through prizes and reading activities. 

Children need to register, read and log a minimum of 10 books from Friday 1 December to Wednesday 31 January to be eligible for prizes!

The Big Summer Read Local prize draw includes a Nintendo Switch and Robinsons Book Vouchers.

Summer Hours

There will be some days over the Christmas and New Years period where our libraries will be closed. 

Make sure you check our website for the correct opening hours before visiting.

During this time, you will still be able to:

  • Access the catalogue and place holds
  • Return items to our external returns chutes
  • Access our 24/7 Digital Library

Our libraries will be returning to normal hours Saturday 13 January.

Summer Guide and School Holiday Program

Summer holidays are fast approaching which means the School Holiday Program is opening for bookings soon.

Bookings for our School Holiday Programs will open Monday 11 December at 9am. Put this date in your diary to avoid missing out as these events book out quickly.

The School Holiday Program include awesome events such as Vegetable Print Fun, Mario Kart Tournament, Kids Karaoke Song Time, Water Safety Storytime with Casey Race and so much more!!

School Holiday Programs

Exciting things are coming in January 2024

We are super excited to announce three new projects to you in early 2024: A Library Lounge opening in Cranbourne West Community Hub, three sets of Library Lockers and a new Library Van.

Cranbourne West Library Lounge will be located in the Cranbourne West Community Hub. It will be a place where community can join the library, borrow and return books, use free Wi-Fi and public computers or collect holds from the Library Lockers to be located at the rear of the building.

Library Lockers will be located at Orana Community Place, Manna Gum Family and Community Centre and the Cranbourne West Community Hub.  

The Library Van will be used for library events, Home Library Service deliveries, community events and festivals, local community group visits and more. 

These projects are set to launch early 2024 so stay tuned to our website and socials for more information.
