STAR SPOTLIGHT

Meet Tilly McDonell!

Tilly is a netball player for the Giants!

Tess Staines

Where are you from?
Hawksbury, Western Sydney.

How long have you been playing?
Started when I was 8 and I got contracted by the Giants when I was 18, so 6 professional years and 16 years altogether.

Why do you love playing netball?
It is the best game in the world. There is nothing quite like the feeling of playing full unit defence where there is this mad blend of energy, excitement and connection. Also I get to play the best game in the world with my best friends, which is pretty surreal.

If you could attend any sporting event in the world, what would it be?
The Olympics, specifically the women’s gymnastics or the track and field events. That would be amazing to see live!

What do you do on your days off?
I go for ocean swims, do Pilates, read books, study, hang out with my people, play my Nintendo Switch or just chill on my couch watching TV.
