In Conversation with John Skaro
"I wanted to be a sports writer (cricket journo, to be precise - and thank Christ that didn't come to pass... "elite" cricketers have never been my favourite people, ever since an Australian Test player made me carry his colossal cricket bag from the Punt Rd nets to the Hilton Hotel - in exchange for the privilege of his telling me how good he was for 15 minutes, when I was 15yo). I got an article published in "Cricketer" magazine when I was 15 and eventually turned to Aussie Rules writing - much more productive, as it turned out. I had a column in The Footscray Mail when I was 17, writing about my beloved Doggies. And it just so happened the Vice-President at the club,
Noel Delbridge, was also the National Creative Director of ad agency, DMB&B. The rest is history, re-told boringly and often by me over the years to various unfortunate and unsuspecting lunch companions...."

MARCUS THOMSON | PHOTOGRAPHER
This was a commissioned shoot over the growth period of canola. Marcus photographed and videoed the sowing to the harvesting of the crop, ranging in locations from Horsham Victoria to Western Australia.
Concept illustrations are something I have done for many years- speed and versatility being the key. With an average frame perhaps taking an hour only, I need to understand what the client wants and execute it clearly and precisely. FMCG and packaging ideas make up the majority of this work.

RICHARD WEINSTEIN | PHOTOGRAPHER
Welcome to Spring and an opportunity to share some images and work from the last few weeks. Richard has been working with some beautiful humans and furry talent on set.
"As a positive, friendly and proactive individual, I love working on-set and collaborating with others to bring beautiful images to life. I have experience assisting a range of photographers for brands such as Gazman and Jay Jays, in studio and on location. Through all my assisting roles I have supported the photographer in setting up equipment and charging stations, making alterations to lighting, cleaning locations if required and packing up. I am also eager to expand my assisting work to digi-op roles as I am proficient with tethered shooting and Capture One. In addition to this, I demonstrate excellent organisational skills and an attention to detail."
"I am a Photographer from Melbourne, Australia, currently working as a freelancer, as well as studying for a bachelor’s degree at ‘Photography Studies College’. I have always been interested in the art of images, both in stills and motion. My experience as a camera assistant and cinematographer for commercials, music videos and narrative products, has allowed me to get my foot in the door and learn the industry and practises behind creating beautiful images. Over time I have been gradually leaning more towards photography as my main passion and working career. While still working as an assistant, I am continuously staying busy in creating my own bodies of work, whether it would be commissioned, editorial, street, or passion-related. "
LYNETTE POWELL | SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER
“From the moment I met Sally, I felt an instant connection and knew that she would be there for me when I needed assistance in finding the best role for me and my future in marketing. Sally took the time to get to know me really well and therefore understood the type of working environment, company and personnel that would be a perfect match for me and my lifestyle. Needless to say, through her connections and understanding of the industry, I am now in my dream role with an amazing agency. Thanks Sally x”
