Exciting news! Applications for the Logan Youth Action Group (LYAG) open on Sunday, 26 January. If you're aged 14 to 24 and live, work, or study in the City of Logan, this is your chance to make a real impact in your community. In 2024, LYAG members launched a Seniors Digital Guide, volunteered at community events, and even took part in a breakfast tour of Logan City Council. Applications close: 9 February 2025 ![]() Collaboration Opportunities for a Stronger Community In 2025, The Family Place Logan building will undergo a major reconstruction, starting in April, thanks to the generous support of the Vincent Fairfax Foundation. This new centre will provide a beautiful space for families, staff, and volunteers, with completion expected in April 2026. The team is excited about strengthening partnerships with local services and integrating further into the community. They welcome ideas for future initiatives and cross-service collaboration. Do you know how to make a cup of tea, love activities, games, outings or driving? TransitCare is a not-for-profit organisation in Logan that provides centre based social activities, bus trips and transport services to keep clients connected with their communities. For just a few hours a week volunteering, you can make a difference. When: Weekdays, a few hours a week ![]() Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) workshop in Eagleby QCOSS and the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) are hosting a workshop in Eagleby, along with other locations across Queensland in February, grant and funding application writers looking to refine their skills. Both new and experienced writers will receive tools and support for project planning, learn to avoid common mistakes, and understand what SQW assessors seek. Applications for the first round of SQW funding for 2025-26 open on 3 February and close on 27 March 2025. ![]() Community EventsCuppa & Craft Come join us and Cr Teresa Lane from Logan City Council to let your inner artist free! Cr Lane is going to give step by step instructions to paint your own masterpiece 🎨. Cuppa & Craft is a Healthy Ageing Hub event, supporting improved health outcomes for older people. This monthly gathering is all about bringing 12 men together to share a meal and talk about what's truly happening in their lives. It's a space where you can be real, connect, and support each other. Mentoring Program for young mums The Bump program is a 26-week one on one mentoring program for pregnant or parenting ladies under 25 years of age. This initiative funds community-led projects aimed at reducing the impact of cancer and improving support for those affected. The program focuses on achieving equity in cancer outcomes, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Eligible organisations include registered charities and not-for-profits with strong community connections. Grants range from $40,000 to $120,000. Applications close: 20 February 2025 Applications are now open for the NAIDOC Local Grants. This program provides funding to support activities and events during National NAIDOC Week (6 to 13 July 2025) that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions. Both First Nations and non-Indigenous organisations are eligible to apply, with a preference for those with significant First Nations ownership and control. Grants range from $10,001 to $25,000. Applications close: 3pm AEDT on Thursday 20 February 2025 Applications are now open for the Strong and Resilient Communities Activity – Inclusive Communities (SARC – IC) Round 4 Grants. This program supports the social and economic participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged people, including young people, people with disabilities, women at risk of isolation, and the unemployed. Eligible organisations include companies, cooperatives, incorporated associations, Indigenous corporations, local governments, statutory entities, and trusts.
