The Principal, Council and St Andrew’s College community honour the life of Angus Kennedy (Fr 1964) who passed away in March 2023, aged 77.
Originally from Tamworth, Angus boarded at the Scots College for high school. Angus arrived at St Andrew’s College in 1964 to study Engineering at The University of Sydney and stayed until 1967. His brother Alan, was already at College as well, having arrived in 1962. During his time at College, Angus was part of the Rawson Rugby and Rowing Teams and was a member of the Bridge Team in 1967. He took to leadership roles from the start, and was the Assistant 1st Year Representative, then the 2nd Year Representative the year after, Honorary Assistant Treasurer in 1966 before finally becoming Senior Student in his final year of College.
Angus graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Mathematics I and II and went on to have a successful career after College. He remained connected to the College throughout his lifetime and was a Director of the Foundation and a member of the Alumni Society.
Over the past 30 years Angus had been residing in Adelaide and was heavily involved with the wine industry in South Australia. Angus is survived by his sons Angus and Hamish, and grandchildren Clayton and Lincoln.
The Kennedy family is held strongly in our thoughts and our dearest sympathy is extended to all who knew Angus.
