Safety at work is a serious job

You may have noticed our awareness campaign featuring Stanley the talking safety cone across South Australia over the past six weeks.

The Safety at work is a serious job campaign highlights three common and preventable workplace risks: Falls from heights, slips and trips and roll-away vehicles.

As HSRs, you can raise awareness of these risks with your work groups by downloading our free campaign resources, including posters and fact sheets to help keep safety front and centre in your workplace.

HSRs can now apply for a workplace protection order (WPO) following changes to the Workplace Protection (Personal Violence) Act 2025, which came into effect on 4 May 2026.

These court-issued orders aim to protect workers against the threat of violence and can restrict or prevent individuals from attending a workplace where there is a risk of harm.

Learn when a WPO may apply, how the process works, and what this new power for HSRs means for protecting your work group.
