PROJECT UPDATE

Port Kembla Energy Terminal
Wednesday 21 DECEMBER 2022 - Issue 1

Welcome to Squadron Energy's first Port Kembla Project update

You're receiving this update because you previously signed up to receive information about the Port Kembla Energy Terminal.

Squadron Energy is owner and operator of the Port Kembla Energy Terminal Project.

The Port Kembla Energy Terminal will have the capacity to import more than 70 per cent of NSW’s gas needs. This will support the transition to renewables by providing a short-term solution to supply gas without developing new gas fields. With a green hydrogen future in mind, Squadron Energy is investigating if the Terminal can be re-purposed for green hydrogen as part of the energy transition.

Our team has made great progress this year and we will keep you informed throughout the next stage of construction early in the new year.

We want to provide regular updates, as well as opportunities to engage with us. Please take this two minute survey to let us know how you would like to receive updates in the future.

What's new?

  • Our hydrogen-capable pipeline has arrived in Port Kembla
  • The energy terminal quay wall is complete
  • We commenced dredging to construct the berth in Port Kembla's Inner Harbour

Next steps:

  • Construction of the pipeline

Further Information:

  • Fact Sheet: Dredging and beneficial re-use of materials
