OpportunitiesDo you know a Food Hero?The Jamie Oliver Food Hero Awards are open now and celebrate the amazing foodie work happening across Australia that puts the health of kids first. The projects – big and small, whether in school or in the community – are all about creating a better world and happier, healthier children. There are five award categories, and anyone can nominate someone or apply themselves. Schools, nurseries and pre-schools, community projects, sports groups, food educators, individuals can all enter. Share Your Recipe, Share Your Story!ItaloWorld Inc have announced a special project which aims to celebrate and maintain traditional Italian recipes still in use in our corner of the world. The project will culminate in a book like no other, featuring 107 recipes sourced from the Northern Territory & Queensland and covering all Italian province Enter the competition to have your cherished and unique traditional Italian recipe featured in this global e-book and printed coffee table publication. Designed to engage disengaged youth aged 10 to 16, the program helps participants develop valuable life skills whilst in the arena. Youths engaging in risky behaviours or those known to police or Youth Justice may be eligible. The program, administered by the Australian Government Applications close: Monday 26 August 2024. Applications are now open for the Young, Black & Proud Scholarship. This program celebrates the talents and strengths of young Indigenous Australians, supporting their passion in sports, the arts, and academics. The scholarships include funding for $1000, $2000 or $5000 to help recipients pursue their artistic or sporting dreams or further their education and training. The YBPS program was launched in 2016 by ATSICHS Brisbane and in 2018 expanded statewide in partnership with the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC).
