Weekly update 5 November 2024

Welcome to our weekly update report. We want to keep you informed of our work and answer your questions. We'll include lodgement queue processing times and volumes.

 

Updates to Biologic.all IHS and Microic.all IHS

The Biological Products import health standard, Biologic.all, has been updated on 17 October 2024 with multiple CTO directions.

These CTO directions clarify and/or simplify the requirements for certain products. The CTO directions added to the IHS are summarised at the beginning of Part 1 Requirements, and referred to in the relevant sections they apply to. 

 

The Microorganisms from All Countries import health standard, Microic.all, has been updated on 15 October 2024 with two CTO directions.

The CTO directions added to the IHS are summarised at the beginning of the IHS and referred to in the relevant sections.

These CTO directions apply to: 

  1. Microorganisms that are present in New Zealand and not unwanted. 
  2. Proficiency testing panels for laboratory accreditation that may contain unwanted organisms. 

These directions replace the need for import permits if appropriate declarations are provided. See sections 6.2 and 6.3 of the IHS for the declaration requirements.

Sea freight queue

For this week, sea freight lodgement turnaround is estimated at 3 days. 

On Monday 4 November, morning, the total sea freight queue (includes Australian lodgements) stood at 1101 lodgements and TET were processing lodgements due Monday at 9:38am.

Last week: average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 22:04 hrs (previous week 18:20hrs) and for second submissions 9:23 hrs (previous week 8:33 hrs).

 

Airfreight queue

For the coming week, air freight lodgement turnaround is estimated 3 hours.

On Monday 4 November, morning, there were 78 airfreight lodgements in the queue for processing and TET were processing lodgements due Monday at 9am.

Last week: average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 2:26 hrs (previous week 1:50 hrs) and for second submissions 2:25 hrs (previous week 2:06 hrs).

 

Australia queue

On Monday 4 November, morning, there were 215 Australian specific lodgements, the team is processing consignments due back Monday at 10am.

Last week: 

Average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 2:08 hrs (previous week 1:57 hrs) and for second submissions 1:46 hrs (previous week 1:59 hrs).

Average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 16:34 hrs (previous week 15:54 hrs) and for second submissions was 7:12 hrs (previous week 7:25 hrs).

Pressure point: None noted
