Similarly, they would like to better understand what would motivate you as a landlord to make your rental property more energy efficient. Social Market Research (SMR) are conducting the short survey on behalf of Housing Rights. It can be accessed by clicking on the link below: CIH Level 2 Award in Letting and Managing Residential Property As part of a new partnership between Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Northern Ireland and TDS Northern Ireland, TDS Northern Ireland will financially support a group of private landlords in Northern Ireland to undertake the CIH Level 2 Award in Letting and Managing Residential Property. This will allow landlords to enrol in the qualification for a significantly reduced rate of £71 (from £775). This 12-week online course provides landlords with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively manage their rental properties, ensuring compliance with tenancy laws and delivering a high-quality service to tenants. Refer A Landlord – TDSNI In an effort to raise standards and compliance across the private rented sector, TDSNI is running a ‘Refer a Landlord’ campaign. Simply refer a landlord who doesn’t currently use a deposit protection scheme. When they register a deposit you’ll both be entered into a monthly prize draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher and a carbon monoxide detector. Deciding Whether to Rent a Property as Furnished or Unfurnished Landlords need to consider some practicalities when renting out a property. This includes deciding whether to rent it as furnished or unfurnished. Housing Rights have provided a case study and advice on renting a property furnished or unfurnished. Housing Mediation ServiceThe free Housing Mediation Service, operated by Housing Rights, helps resolve disputes in private tenancies. A trained mediator will help those involved in a dispute talk and listen to each other, and try to come to an agreement. The service is for:
