Facility Engagement Website Changes and Feedback

The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs) are undergoing a rebrand with updated logos, colours, and transitioning into one collective website for all of the JCCs and their programs, which includes the Facility Engagement (FE) initiative. During the rebranding, the current FE websites may not display all resources properly. Please contact engagement@doctorsofbc.ca if you experience any issues.

As part of this work, the FE website, which provides resources for running your MSA, and the Knowledge Sharing portal, which features success stories, activities, and peer learning, will be refreshed. The FEMS website and mobile app will remain unchanged.

We want your input! We’re looking for MSA administrators and/or medical staff members to join a small virtual focus group on Tuesday, September 15, from 2–3 p.m. Participants will share feedback on how they use the FE websites, what they find most valuable, and what could be improved or added.

Interested? Email engagement@doctorsofbc.ca by Wednesday, September 9 to participate.

FE Annual Review Summaries

Annual reviews were submitted by 71 eligible MSAs and 17 regional MSA–Health Authority tables and projects across BC, highlighting key activities and results from 2025–26, as well as priorities and planned activities for 2026–27.

For the provincial Annual Review summary, click here.
For the provincial Regional Annual Review summary, click here.

The findings demonstrate the continued progress and impact of Facility Engagement (FE) and highlight opportunities to strengthen future collaboration. They will also help inform ongoing efforts to share successes, demonstrate the value of the initiative, and support continued local and regional engagement.

Thank you to all FE participants for your contributions and commitment to advancing meaningful engagement across BC.

REMINDER: New Funding Documents Requiring Signature

Just a reminder that under the new Physician Main Agreement (PMA) ratified in June, new funding agreements are now required to be signed by both physician society and the FESC executive members.

All physician societies should now have received copies of their Fund Transfer Agreements (FTA), which were sent during the week of August 10. To maintain continued funding, please ensure that they are sent back ASAP.

All FESC MSAs have begun receiving copies of their Terms and Conditions of Funding (T&C) during the week of August 24. To maintain continued funding, please ensure they are returned by Tuesday, September 15.

For full details of the updates to the FTA and T&C, please see the communications section at the bottom of this newsletter for copies of the emails sent to both PS and FESC administrators and executives.

If you have any questions, please contact engagement@doctorsofbc.ca.

FEMS Tip of the Month

Just a reminder that under the new Physician Main Agreement (PMA), sessional rates underwent changes for both the last fiscal year, 2025-26, and this fiscal year, 2026-27. The new physician sessional rate of $192.35 became effective on September 1 in FEMS.

This change in sessional rates resulted in retroactive payments on physician sessionals for those time periods. These retroactive payments are being funded directly by Doctors of BC and do not need to be accounted for in the MSA's budgets for either 2025-26 or 2026-27. One set of retroactive funding for 2025-26 will occur during the first weeks of September. A second set of retroactive funding for April-August 2026 will occur in October. A final set of retroactive funding will for September 2026-March 2027 will occur in early summer 2027. To see the full details on the changes, please see the communications section at the bottom of this newsletter for a copy of the email sent to MSA administrators and executives.

Over September and October, you might see new FEMS activities being created on the MSA's behalf to facilitate these retroactive payments. No action is required on your part - they will be opened, funded, and closed by the FE provincial office.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to femssupport@doctorsofbc.ca.
