![]() September 2022![]() A Message from the Dean of Students Dear parents, guardians, and family members, Fall semester is well underway, and it’s exciting to have everyone on campus again. Two convocations recently welcomed new and returning students and faculty to campus for the beginning of Fall 2022. New Student Convocation on August 25 marked the official start of the academic year at Geneseo. And on August 26, President Denise Battles delivered her keynote, Advancing Our Distinction: A Bold Vision for Geneseo, at the Opening Convocation for faculty and staff. Her address outlined Geneseo’s plans to become the nation’s first equity-minded honors college and discussed the critical priorities in the college’s next strategic plan. I encourage you to check it out for more insight into Geneseo’s recent challenges and accomplishments. This Family Newsletter offers useful information for both you and your student. If you’d like more news about the College, you can subscribe to the monthly community edition of Geneseo’s e-newsletter One College Circle or follow Geneseo on Facebook or other social media platforms. And as always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can feel free to contact me or the Center for Community staff. We’re more than happy to assist you. Fall Break is October 10–11, and it’s not too soon to plan for transportation if your student will be traveling during that time.
