Junior School NoticesTERM 4 WEEK 8Dear valued member of the PLC community, Year 6 Final AssemblyI believe all of those who attended the fabulously entertaining Year 6 Final Assembly on Friday were impressed by the students' high level of performance and energy. It was a spectacular extravaganza and I would like to, once again, thank and acknowledge the staff and students who made this event such a memorable occasion. A special thank you to the staff and students in the Senior School who welcomed our Year 6 students by forming a guard of honour to greet the girls as they wound their way to join the Year 12s in the Quad. Suzuki Christmas ConcertWe all extremely enjoyed the annual Suzuki Strings Christmas Concert which was a very special celebration of learning and accomplishment. Well done to all the teachers and students who performed so beautifully on Tuesday evening. Jump Rope for HeartThank you to all students in Years 1 to 6 for participating in Jump Rope for Heart. We had a fantastic time learning new skipping skills and increasing our fitness levels. Thank you also to our amazing parents, grandparents, and special guests who joined us for our ‘Jump Off’. I know the students loved showing you their new skills and love for skipping. We would like to mention that by participating in Jump Rope for Heart, PLC raised a staggering $6,206 for the Heart Foundation. Congratulations and thank you to the following students who raised vital funds to fight heart disease: Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6 Sam Maxwell Announced as New Head of SportPLC is delighted to confirm Mr Sam Maxwell as the Head of Sport. Mr Maxwell has been supporting PLC athletes for 18 years, initially overseeing Tennis, Cross Country, and Athletics. Now, as Head of Sport overseeing Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, his priorities will be providing sporting opportunities for every student, from just getting involved to high-performance athletes, and connecting those elite students with pathways to the professional space. Bringing Christmas CheerOur Junior School students are definitely on the "nice list" this Christmas as they have been doing lots of jobs around their homes to raise enough money to donate 101 Christmas chocolate stockings to Care Bags. These chocolate stockings will be going to children entering into foster care. Thank you to each student and their families for their support.
