Date set for Genetic counselling Lunch and Learn WebinarGenetic Counselling Webinar Lunch and Learn with us on Friday 25th April 12.30pm - 1.00pm This free, online event is for members of the Psychological Professions Network North West (PPN NW) organised in partnership with NHS North West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance As genomic medicine becomes embedded into many different services within the NHS it will be pertinent to many different workforce groups within the Psychological Professions. Knowledge of genomic medicine will aid interactions with patients and improve your practice. ![]() Practitioner Psychologists Return to PracticeSupporting practitioner psychologists back into their roles after some time out of their profession brings benefits to patients and the returner, as well as the employing organisation. The NHSE Return to Practice programme supports practitioner psychologists, as well as other professions, back to the Health and Care Professions council (HCPC) register. We’re currently supporting 871 returners to return, 101 of those in the Northwest region. And so far in 2024-25, 194 individuals have returned to the register, 15 of these in London. Description: The 2023 Autumn Statement provided the NHS with ringfenced funding to expand and rebalance the Talking Therapies workforce to ensure that more receive a course of NICE psychological therapy. This webinar provides practical guidance to assist the system in optimal developments of its workforce and will include information on types of funding available, how to access funding and required workforce expansion. This webinar will focus on evidence-based interventions and strategies to help practitioners provide adequate support in easing the onboarding and transition experience of our newly qualified registrant colleagues. ![]() Applications open for NHS England’s Population Health Fellowship fifth cohortNHS England’s Population Health Fellowship for health and care workforces in England aims to develop and grow a workforce of professionals who will incorporate population health into their everyday jobs. Providing exciting opportunities for a wide range of health professionals successful applicants will embark on a year-long part-time fellowship, two days a week, alongside their substantive posts. As part of the initiative, they will receive a taught learning programme provided by the University of Salford and will be required to undertake a project in the workplace.
