More In the 17th century, a simple peasant boy with the ambitious goal of living a comfortable life by virtue of becoming a priest, would go on to change the way the Catholic Church and eventually the world viewed its charitable works. Oral tradition of the life of St. Vincent de Paul includes an account of his dying meeting with the Queen of France in which she listed all of the things he had done to help the poor after which she asked if he had any regrets or if he would have done anything differently. His response was one simple word “More”. |

A cynic might add that we seek this spirit of youth only because we can’t recruit the actual youth that made up our Society in the past. But is that really so?... |

October is not simply the beginning of another year; it is an invitation to renew our commitment, reimagine our possibilities, and continue growing in service to those in need.
The first day of October signals a new year for all Vincentian councils and conferences. It is a time for new beginnings—a time to say goodbye to outgoing officers and welcome and commission new officers. It marks the end of the fiscal year, a time to complete annual reports and begin yearly audits. It is the perfect time to step back and evaluate your conference: its works, its goals, and its overall effectiveness. This reflection can help identify areas for future growth, development, and expansion.
