Congratulations, FoMD Class of 2020!We are experiencing unprecedented times, but the resiliency and determination of our students did not waver, even in the face of significant change and uncertainty. This year the convocation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 took place virtually instead of in person, but that does not diminish the importance of this milestone for the outstanding
learners that are now graduates of the University of Alberta and the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. We are so proud of all our grads, and anticipate great things!

Resident Orientation - Going VirtualPGME Resident Orientation In these unprecedented times, and in consideration of COVID-19 physical distancing precautions, PGME is no longer able to host its annual in-person orientation event on June 26, 2020, as planned. Our office is collaborating with Academic Technologies in order to transition this event to a virtual platform and allow learners to access a majority of the content online. There will be mandatory components that must be completed prior to July 1, 2020. This information will be provided as soon as
it is available, and these components will be tracked through eClass. All learners require a pager and ID badge in order to work at an AHS site; therefore, these items must be picked up in person, prior to July 1, 2020. Our colleagues at AHS are working on a plan to fulfill this requirement, and PGME will post details as soon as they become available. Program-Specific Resident Orientation Many programs have orientation activities for their new residents, such as boot camps or simulations, and a majority of these activities will need to be modified and delivered remotely. If you require assistance in converting your existing educational activities for remote delivery, please contact Erin Blazey,
Team Lead, Resident Education at pgtmld@ualberta.ca.
