Click here Note from Dean Butch de CastroThese past few months have brought much joy and recognition as we celebrated our 2024 graduates through various culminating events. The Commencement season officially ended at the close of summer quarter, marking the completion of studies for our undergraduate diagnostic ultrasound and transfer nursing cohorts. In this newsletter, I am proud to highlight some who have received awards and other acknowledgments for their achievements and contributions during their time at Seattle University. Congratulations, RedHawks! Adeline Ong, BSN '24, from Nursing Grad to Fulbright ScholarFollowing commencement Adeline Ong embarked on a months-long journey teaching English abroad. Adeline Ong enjoys connecting with people by really engaging with them, learning about their lives, shared experiences, fears and hopes. It’s a compassionate trait that will serve this nursing graduate as she aspires to be a pediatric nurse before ultimately transitioning into primary care. Nathan Eller, BS '24, A Heart for HealingIn high school, an echocardiogram discovered the cancer hiding in Nathan Eller’s chest, possibly saving his life but also setting him on track to help others. That experience led him to Seattle University’s Diagnostic Ultrasound program, the first of its kind in Washington state, and from which Eller officially graduated from with his Bachelor of Science degree this summer. Jaiden Childs, BSN ’24, Embarks on her Nursing Career as a 2nd Lieutenant in the ArmyJaiden Childs, ’24, graduated from Seattle University with goals in place, the determination to meet those goals and a deep love for nursing.
