To support increased workforce inclusion of people with disabilities/diverse abilities at UBC, BC WiN is assisting with recruitment for Cooks, Sales Attendant/Barista and Dishwashers. These positions have a competitive salary, comprehensive benefit package, a transit pass program, generous vacation and leave program and a complimentary meal while on shift. 

Cook (3rd, 2nd, 1st) - PT (20 to 37.5 hrs per week): 

  • Culinary Apprenticeship program at UBC
  • Shifts times: vary depending on location but would all be daytime shifts
  • First Cook salary: Starting at $21.96 progress to $23.11
    • Qualifications: Completion of a certified cooking program at a recognized college, red seal cook certification, FoodSafe 1 certificate and a minimum three years of related experience
  • Second Cook salary: Starting at $20.36 progress to $21.53
    • Qualifications: Completion of a certified cooking program, FoodSafe 1 certificate and a minimum two years of related experience
  • Third Cook salary: Starting at $19.13 progress to $20.23
    • ​​​​​​​Qualifications: Certificate in cooking program from a recognized cooking institution, FoodSafe 1 certificate and a minimum one years of related experience

Sales Attendant/Sales Associate/Barista - PT (20 to 37.5 hrs per week): 

  • Serving Customers, taking payment and preparing food in food services restaurants, residences and retail outlets
  • Shifts times: vary depending on location but would all be daytime shifts
  • Qualifications: Grade 10, Food Safe certificate and a minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Salary: Starting at $19.13 progress to $20.23

Dishwashers - PT (20 to 37.5 hrs per week): 

  • Cleaning, stockroom, dish room, and assigned kitchen duties that may require heavy lifting, and assisting in food preparation and serving
  • Shifts times: vary depending on location but would all be daytime shifts
  • Qualifications: Grade 10, FoodSafe level 1 certificate and a minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Cleaning, stocking and maintenance of lunchrooms, washrooms, showers, locker rooms, offices, instrument wash, loading bay and other common space
  • Complete required reports as needed
