Dear Residents
As Mayor of Strathfield, I am filled with immense gratitude for the overwhelming support our residents have shown toward our homelessness appeal. Your generosity and kindness have significantly impacted the lives of those in need.
I caught the action live at Strathfield Square on Monday night as the Matildas defeated Denmark to progress through to the quarter finals. Join us to cheer on the Matildas at 5:00pm this Saturday in the Square as they take on France!
Council is currently conducting a transport survey to help us understand the needs for the local public transport services in Strathfield. The survey will close tomorrow, and your feedback will help guide our next steps.
My street meetings will continue over the next month and into September. Please feel free to pop by and say hi at my street meetings which will continue over the next month and into September. I am always interested in ideas and practical changes we can use to make Strathfield a wonderful place to live and work. My next meeting will take place Saturday 19 August at Cooke Park, more details are available here.
Once again, thank you Strathfield for your unwavering support and for being an integral part of our vibrant and caring community. Together, we can continue making a positive impact on the lives of others and ensure Strathfield remains a wonderful place to call home.

The official opening of Somewhere in Between by artist Marina Mavritsky on Thursday 31 August 2023, 6pm showcases an exhibition which explores the ambivalence between perceptions of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ with bugs as an inspiration. RSVP by Monday 21 August 2023.

Strathfield Spring Festival
Council has made the difficult decision not to go ahead with the Spring Festival this year and will go out to community consultation to receive firsthand feedback on how to improve and shape next year’s Spring Festival. Stay tuned for details of a new event in Homebush in September!
Revitalising Sydney's Cooks River
The Federal Government is investing $10m to better protect and restore the iconic Cooks River, part of which runs through our LGA. The funding will be used for activities including tree planting, riverbank stabilisation, and the installation of litter traps, to support the restoration of waterways.
Commemoration of Strathfield Plaza Shooting
Join Councillors and staff as we remember the tragic the events of 17 August 1991, The Strathfield Massacre. A wreath will be laid at the memorial tree outside Gloria Jeans at Strathfield Square at 10am
