Big things are happening this November! We’re launching a new online scholarship application that makes it easier than ever to apply from your phone, along with an updated schedule, winter swim lesson information, and a link to sign up for the City of Des Moines, City Manager Report to stay connected with community news. Plus, enjoy $1 First Saturday Swim, special holiday schedules, and more ways to make a splash this season!

Pool Closed for Swim Meet: Sunday, November 2
Updated Schedule: Saturday, November 15 (info coming soon)
New Online Scholarship Process Available (see below): Saturday, November 15
Pool Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday: Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28

These events are designed to give members of the community low cost access to the pool, and free water safety training. All are great ways for families to attend our pool.

ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS

Allows for encrypted document download
Utilize your cell phone camera for document uploads
Translation of application to over 100 languages
Ability to renew scholarship up to $1,000 for the next set of swim lessons

NEW SCHEDULE - COMING NOVEMBER 15

Our newest schedule will take effect on Saturday, November 15.

The new schedule is for the Boys MRHS Swim Season and will go through mid-February.

The updated schedule will come out on Thursday, November 13.

Schedules are now translated into the most spoken languages in the area.

TRICK OR TREAT PATH

Friday, October 31: 4-6:30pm B&E Meats Parking Lot

Come join us for the 2025 Trick or Treat Path in downtown Des Moines on Friday, October 31 between 4:30 and 6:30pm. We will be giving away ducks, snacks and our Swim Lesson Coordinator will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Thank you to the Des Moines Legacy Foundation for hosting our location for the event.

WINTER SWIM LESSON INFORMATION

The Swim Lesson Page has been updated with Winter Swim Lesson Information.

We have also updated our swim lesson handbook with updated scholarship information, information on future dates, and 2026 swim lesson rates. We suggest everyone check out this information before registering for lessons.
