Five Surf Finalists in NSW Sport Awards
Surf Life Saving NSW will have representation across five categories – the most of any single organisation – when the 2023 NSW Sports Awards is hosted in Sydney in November.
“There are more than 30 sports being represented across the 12 categories this year and it fills me with pride to see so many SLSNSW finalists," SLSNSW Director and Chair of Surf Sports, Don van Keimpema said.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Your club can have its own dedicated Lottery web landing page and receive 50% commission on all tickets sold through it. NSW Government Crown Reserves Improvement Fund Program 2023-24
The NSW Gov Crown Reserves Improvement Fund Program 2023-24 is now open, closing 17 November 2023. This program provides financial support for the maintenance, improvement and development of Crown reserves.
Applications close 17 November 2023.
Australian Sports Commission Local Para Champions Programs
The Local Para Champions program is designed to provide financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability. Funding of between $750 and $1000 for individual applicants is available, to contribute towards the cost of participation in the nominated championships.
Applications close 31 October 2023.
NSW Government Community Building Partnership 2023
The NSW Government Community Building Partnership 2023 is now open, closing 27 October 2023.
This program offers funding between $5,000 and $150,000 (average grant awarded is $20,000) for:
- Capital works including construction of new community infrastructure as well as refurbishment, repair and maintenance of existing community infrastructure;
- The purchase of freestanding equipment;
- The purchase of vehicle(s) e.g. cars, buses, trucks, trailers, rescue vehicles incl. boats and modifications to existing vehicles.

Funding of between $500 and $750 for individual applicants is available, to contribute towards the cost of participation in the nominated championships.

NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program
The NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program is opening soon. The program assists NSW Surf Life Saving clubs to develop facilities that will enable increased facility usage, improve safety and increase participation in Surf Life Saving.
Clubs and Branches looking to apply are encouraged to commence gathering required approvals and documentation ASAP. As soon as the new guidelines are released, we will distribute the details.
