I was delighted to attend The Harvest Festivals of India Sub-continent and Lunar New Year celebrations this week. Both events were held at Homebush West and are a great example of the diverse cultures that are thriving in our local community. A Harmony Day event will also be held on 21 March at Homebush West Community Centre which will celebrate multiculturalism and belonging for all Australians. Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements closer to the date. Tomorrow, I will have the honour of welcoming 51 new conferees from 10 different countries to our home as they take the pledge to become Australian Citizens on Australia Day. We will also hold an event later in the day at 4pm in Strathfield Square. Join us for a smoking ceremony, didgeridoo performance, free kids activities, a movie screening and delicious food from various businesses in the Square.
