And just like that we are in the last month of the year already. For everyone 2021 has been an extremely tough year and we are all looking forward to some rest and relaxation with family in a few weeks. The traffic light system that begins on Friday seems to be a bit confusing for some so we wanted to clarify that vaccine passports are not mandatory in retail stores unless the business decides to use them. At Bethlehem Health Shop we are certainly pro choice and we will be welcoming everyone. We do have capacity limits based on 1 metre distancing but don't see this being an issue due to the size of the store and how many customers we usually have at the same time. Face coverings are still mandatory in orange and red unless you have an exemption. Unfortunantely until we get to green we wont be able to offer foot massage, QRA, or consultations in our wee clinic room. Our homeopath Karen can still do Homeopathic consults over the phone or online, and bach flower consults can be done in store (as usually less than 10 minutes) or over the phone if longer time is required. Due to the circumstance of the last few months we haven't had our usual visits with our suppliers, who would often donate product for our Chrismas gift baskets. We decided this year instead of having gift hampers and prizes to encourage shopping with us we would like to give back instead. #TeamSeas is a global campaign to raise $30M to remove 30M pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers and beaches. It follows on from #TeamTrees launched in 2019 with a goal of raising $20M to plant 20M trees. $23M was raised and even two years later, TeamTrees.org is still receiving donations and planting 2,600 trees every day. So they are back again to rally the internet’s passion and imagination in support of the ocean. By shopping with us in December you will be helping us to contribute to this campaign. The team here look forward to seeing you all soon and wishing you a joyful Chrismas in person! Our Vision

Christmas can be a really stressful time! What is your number one tip to minimise stress during this time of year? Congratulations to Jules Frecklington who is the winner of last months Naturo Pharm prize pack. Let’s do some Yin yoga! Yin yoga is a passive and slow paced form of yoga where we work deep into the body and into the fascia – the connective tissue. Yin yoga focuses on the meridians. Meridians are the channels throughout the body that conduct energy. Whenever any of these energy lines are blocked or disrupted the body will not function optimally, the organs will not function optimally and imbalances will arise. When the liver is out of balance, we can experience frustration, rage, anger and jealousy, and the emotions can become stagnant. Blurry vision may be also be a symptom of the liver being out of balance. When in balance, we find kindness, compassion and generosity. The liver governs drive, desire, ambition and creativity. Below is a short sequence, with a focus on the liver meridian... all you need is 10 to 15 minutes and a little bit of floor space. As you move through this sequence, try to focus on the breath. Breathing in and out through the nose and sending the breath all the way down to the belly - allow the belly to expand and contract with each breath. Enjoy. 1. Begin on your belly, place your elbows directly under your shoulders. The palms are flat on the ground. Feet can be hip distance apart or as wide as your mat. Either look straight ahead or down at the ground. Find stillness and stay here for two minutes. 2. Bring your knees wide with big toes touching. Sink your hips back to your heels. Reach your hands forwards and lower your forehead down to the ground, or to a block or book if that's more comfortable. Breathe deeply, find stillness and stay here for five minutes. 3. Come to lie on your back. Bring your knees toward your chest as you reach forward and grab the outside edges of your feet. Spread your knees apart gently and flex your feet. Using your hands, pull your knees down towards your armpits. Hold this pose for three minutes as you breathe deeply into the belly.
