January 11 Schedule Update
Dear Valued Customer and Community Member,
The Mount Rainier Pool will be updating its schedule effective Monday, January 11, 2026. This schedule will remain in place through the end of the Mount Rainier High School swim season and the conclusion of swim lessons on March 7, 2026.
Our goal is to operate under this schedule through March 7.
SPRING CLOSURE DELAY
We are still working out contractual items with our King County grant projects, so we are delaying the projects until we have approval to move forward. We apologize for the delays, but we need the contracts to be finalized before we moved forward with the $1.76 million in repairs. Any changes will communicated through our website, social media and email notification system.
MLK DAY WEEKEND
We will be open regular hours the weekend of MLK Day: January 16-19. This includes Saturday Swim Lessons starting on January 17.

JANUARY SAVE-THE-DATE
The Mount Rainier Pool has the upcoming events.
- Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Training: Jan 16-19
- Saturday Swim Lessons Start*: Jan 17
- MLK Day (Open Regular Hours): Jan 19
- Weekday Swim Lessons Start*: Jan 26
*Swim lesson registration was in December, and we only have limited spots in Level 6. Call us at 206.824.4722 for more information.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
All schedule changes will be communicated on the Mount Rainier Pool's schedule page.
REDUCED LANES
If we are reducing an area of the pool by 1-2 lanes, we will not send out an announcement, as this only affects a few swimmers. We usually will do this to accommodate internal and external trainings. These closures will be listed in the schedule update section of the page.
POOL/SECTION CLOSURES
If we close one end of the pool, or the entire pool, we will send out notifications on our email system. We sometimes will include these in other email notifications to try to keep the amount of email notifications sent out to a minimum. These will also be included in the "Schedule Update" section of the website.
HOLIDAYS/REDUCED DAYS
We list all holidays and reduced hours for each quarter at the bottom of the schedule page.
LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
Due to occasional mechanical issues, inclement weather and instructor illness, we may be forced to make a last second cancellation. We will do what we can to contact registered participants, and will send out an email notification to our email list. This will also be posted to the schedule updates section.
TRANSLATION AVAILABLE
The Mount Rainier Pool website is now translatable to over 200 languages.
We also post PDF translations of the schedule in: Amharic, Arabis, Korean, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
The translation is available for both the website and registration portal. This includes scholarship applications and job interest cards.
