Junior School NoticesTERM 4 WEEK 4Dear valued member of the PLC community, On Wednesday, students in Years 5 and 6 took the opportunity to visit Scotch College to view the Year 5 boys’ Exhibition. As a fellow PYP school, it is important for our pupils to share both processes of learning and the learning of others, for these can open children’s and teachers' minds to possibilities and new ways of thinking. I am sure that the Year 6 students took the time to reflect on their own Exhibition and for the Year 5s, it provided an opportunity to consider their own journey for next year. Years 5 and 6 JIGSSA Athletics CarnivalCongratulations to our students in Years 5 and 6 who competed at the JIGSSA Athletics Carnival yesterday. I am sure that you all represented the school well and gave of your best. Many thanks to our PE and classroom teachers for all that they did in supporting the running and organisation of this event. Year 6 Migration MuseumYear 6 students' wonderfully informative Migration Museum this morning was an opportunity for the students to share the narrative of a family member who migrated, their reasons for migrating, and the impact of their relocation on their communities. Dress Up DayLast Friday, our Junior School took part in a free dress day with the theme 'Sporting Heroes'. Students could dress up as any sporting hero they admired and we thank parents and guardians for their support in this. It was wonderful to see a vast array of athletes. Weaving a Way ForwardThe Year 4 students spent time today working with Reclaim the Void, an organisation born from Indigenous elders from Leonora. A reminder to parents and children of students in Years 3 to 6 that when wearing the summer uniform, the blazer is worn as the outer garment to and from school should the weather be cool. The jumper or Year 6 hoodie is to be worn during school time only; not on the journey to or from school. Meredith Beer Important InformationPLC Parents’ Spring Soirée
