FOCUS

Reaching all our stakeholders

Translated Employer Fact Sheets Now Available

WorkCover WA is committed to delivering the best possible service outcomes and reaching stakeholders from all backgrounds.

Recent compliance activities reveal culturally and linguistically diverse employers are disproportionately unaware of their obligations due to language barriers and limited access to information.

As part of our efforts to regulate a scheme which is fair and accessible for all, WorkCover WA is pleased to announce our Workers’ Compensation Essentials: Employer Fact Sheet has been translated into six languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic and Punjabi.

Did you know we also offer interpretation and translation services? We continually aim to improve our services to ensure all stakeholders can access essential information and assistance.

Compliance Outcomes 101

Infringement Notices

WorkCover WA may issue an infringement notice with a modified penalty where an employer has failed to meet their compliance requirements.

Paying an infringement is not an admission of guilt. Infringements function to penalise offences and deter future non-compliance as an alternative to prosecuting a matter in court.

We are constantly refining our processes for identifying and dealing with non-compliance. With a total of 463 infringement notices issued, 2022-2023 has been our busiest year to date.
