Changes to notice to quit periodsThe Private Tenancies Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 has brought in changes to the length of notice to quit periods that landlords and tenants are required to give. These notice periods apply from 5 May 2022. Use the 'find out more' button below to view the new notice periods. The Private Tenancies Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 also contains a number of other important changes which will be implemented through subordinate legislation. Work has commenced on the detailed regulations and supporting guidance needed to implement sections of the Act. A plan summarising those activities and assumed timescales has been developed and we will inform landlords in good time before any sections of the Act are implemented. Landlord Registration SchemeRegistration as a landlord with the Landlord Registration Scheme must be renewed every 3 years whilst you are still a landlord. Reminder notifications are issued by email, text message and by post – please ensure that you renew your registration when prompted if you are still a landlord.
