Spreading the Love

While we had no official Valentine's Day activities, Nela made our day by asking 'Will you be my Valentine?' on a tiny slip of paper, then offering a free hug if you accepted. It brightened Ms Silvain's day as you can see!

The Lantern Project

After half term we will be holding a Lantern Walk at the Olympic Park! This is the culminating event for the Year 6 & Year 8 project 'How can we bring light to those who need it most?' The students have selected a number of projects from www.lanternprojects.org to support as they seek out sponsorship for the walk. A letter with further information and how to support the event will come home when we get back from the half term.

Family Maths Night!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Family Maths night on Thursday last week. We had over 20 different families come along to compete for chocolates, board games and slime! Congratulations to Vlad and his family who took out first place and his very own Fortnite Monopoly game. We are keen to run another evening in the Summer term - watch this space for updates!

Climate Change Activists

Lately there has been a lot of media attention on campaigns run by students encouraging strikes to protest climate change happening around Europe and the UK. #YouthStrike4Climate and #FridaysforFuture are examples of this movement. The students of Fuji class were moved by this mission and on Friday took to the streets of Stratford to share their message. We were very proud to support the Y8 students who felt very passionately about this cause.

International Visitors

This week School 21 hosted a number of PGCE students and their professor who were visiting all the way from Japan! They were interested in learning about the different practices School 21 uses in our teaching and learning, especially Oracy and how we make our Middle School model work. IK, Iliana and Adil did a fantastic job of talking all about how we do things at School 21 - they were so eloquent and knowledgeable that there wasn't any need for the adults to speak! They should be very proud of how well they represent our school.

Recognition last week

Here are the 'Big Names' that filled our recognition board last week. Congratulations and thank you to all who demonstrated working in the zone, choosing kind and stepping up - you make our Middle School community #middlestrong!

We are running a very successful club every morning from 7:45 to 8:25  (last entry 8:10).

I would like to remind everyone of the Breakfast Club Code of Conduct so that parents can share this with their children.

  • All pupils are expected to pack away resources and tidy the area.

  • No pupils to leave the club area without the permission of an adult.

  • Middle School pupils to stay in the club until 8:20. Pupils are not allowed into Middle School until this time.

  • Pupils should help each other and be supportive of each other.

  • Pupils will be warned about inappropriate behaviour twice then parents will be informed.

  • If the behaviour continues pupils will not be able to attend for a week.

  • If conduct does not improve they will not be allowed to attend the club for the rest of that half term.

  • Extreme behaviour will result in a ban.

The club is for everyone to enjoy themselves in a friendly and safe environment. Thank you for your support.
