With preparations underway, we look forward to welcoming students on campus and online for Winter School from 9 - 20 December. Our Short Course Coordinators are always here to help, so don't hesitate to contact them if you have any queries. Read on to discover the latest news, events and updates this November. ![]() Tutor survey![]() Don't forget to complete the tutor survey! You only need to fill it in once, but if you've remembered something you want to add feel free to complete it again. This survey is anonymous and we welcome your candour about your experiences as a Short Course tutor. It should not take more than 6 minutes to complete and is a chance for you to comment on recent changes and make suggestions for improvements. The survey responses will be collated in November, giving us an opportunity to gather responses from both summer school and term time tutors, and we plan to share the results and actions resulting from them in early 2025. Simply scan the QR code above, or click the link below to complete the survey. ![]() Travel disruption![]() Please be aware that despite upcoming strikes on the TFL network Short Courses will run as scheduled unless you hear directly from us. If your journey is like to be disrupted please check TFL. We recommend you look at alternative transport (buses and overground are not included in the strikes) and plan extra time to travel. If you are unable to make it in, please let us know as soon as possible and we can look at online provision, or rescheduling sessions as a last resort. ![]() Supporting inclusive and developmental crits: a guidance for staff at UAL![]() This new document is a vital resource for all short course tutors, ensuring our practices align with the university's standards. It details key principles on how to give and receive feedback and includes several resources to help guide the staff at UAL. Read on to learn more about best practices in critiques (crits) and maintaining UAL's commitment to inclusivity and quality education. ![]() Student feedback response rates![]() ![]() Student feedback is such a valuable tool that helps us all to improve the experience we deliver at Short Courses. All students receive an email at the end of their course inviting them to complete our feedback survey. Every term tutors receive feedback reports, it is your responsibility to get your response rates up. Please remind students to look out for the Student Feedback Survey email at the end of their course.
