Hello friends,
Once again, the Olympics produced beautiful moments of respect, in the most extraordinary way. I suppose that's the power of 'The Games' - that it has the platform and the will to show the best in people.
Competitors, opposing teams, die-hard fans, families, heaps of Aussies, Hip-hop legends, and even DJ's all played a part this
year!
We've now released all 30 of the top moments of respect at the Paris Games. It's hard to select a favourite, so here are a few that hit home for me:
1.
Jemima Montag – Female role model: Her philosophy of “wanting it, not needing it,” and not linking her self-worth to the outcome, goes beyond athletics and can be applied in any aspect of life.
4. ‘Delly’ – Leadership masterclass: Shows leadership and respect for the game as he moves his teammates away from a physical confrontation.
17. Harry Garside – respect in defeat: Self-awareness and vulnerability. Being able to share this with the world and inspire others at the same. Amazing.
20. Respect for the Brazilian Queen: Celebrating your competitors Gold Medal on the podium with an iconic
bow! Legendary.
22. The power of family and sibling love: Saya Sakakibara and her brother Kai, an unbelievable Australian story. Saya's Gold medal couldn't be sweeter.
25. “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one”: The power of music to change the mood! Perhaps DJ's should be commissioned at every heated football and basketball match to regulate emotions!?
It's a great read, thank you to Patrick Skene for compilation. Enjoy!
