Grant Funding to Support Innovative ResearchFaculty members, Dr. Katherine Frato and Dr. Shen Ren, from the College of Science and Engineering have been awarded Washington Research Foundation (WRF) grant funding supporting biosciences innovation and student research and training. This is the first time Seattle University has received WRF funding. University Service Award: Joe Blaschka, ’73Joe Blaschka, ’73, received Seattle University’s 2025 University Service Award for his outstanding contributions to the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department and College of Science and Engineering. CSE Launches Three New Grad ProgramsSeattle University’s College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is launching three new graduate programs: an Online MS in Artificial Intelligence, Online MS in Data Science and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science. These programs provide innovative, high-quality education in AI and data science, with online learning formats that expand access and flexibility for working professionals. Save the Date for Projects Day 2025Mark your calendars for Projects Day 2025 on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 12 to 6 p.m. Join us in-person or via Zoom as graduating seniors in engineering, environmental science, computer science, as well as master’s level data science students showcase the results of their multi-quarter, industry-led projects. These projects are the result of partnerships with industry sponsors who provide opportunities for our students to apply their knowledge to real world challenges. The event will feature presentations, demonstrations, poster sessions and a reception. This event is free and open to the public. We look forward to celebrating with you!
