HLH update New briefs: New on the Knowledge Hub Other WHO news: Launch of the new WHO Global Learning Laboratory for Quality website Over the past few months, the WHO Global Learning Laboratory (GLL) for Quality has been migrating from its old website to a new, more user-friendly platform. The NEW, revamped GLL website is now live and ready to use! HLH and GLL provide complementary learning opportunities. While the focus of the HLH has been on maintaining essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic and health service recovery in the post-acute phase of the pandemic, the GLL provides a space to share knowledge, experiences and ideas, to challenge ideas and approaches and to spark new thinking to enhance quality of care. The new GLL platform contains all the content that was available on the old website, including the resources focusing on compassion and quality of care, but also has new pages, interactive features, and learning products. It has never been easier for global health colleagues to share learnings, challenge each other, and spark innovation about improving the quality of care worldwide. If you missed the official launch event of the new revamped website, you can watch the recording here. And if you are interested in joining the GLL knowledge platform, to participate in its learning pods, to browse the wealth of knowledge products available on the platform, or
simply to tune into an upcoming GLL webinar (or watch the recording of a previous one), please contact GLL4QUHC@who.int to sign up. Global Health Compassion Rounds The Global Health Compassion Rounds, co-hosted by WHO and the Taskforce for Global Health, bring together public health professionals from around the world to explore the overlap between their work, their lives and compassion. Over the past three years, we have convened on a quarterly basis and covered a wide range of topics: COVID-19; quality of care; faith; leadership; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); neglected tropical diseases; maternal and newborn care; palliative care; storytelling; and measurement – to learn beside one another and ignite momentum for system-wide transformation. The Compassion Rounds held on 20 December 2022 reflected upon what has been discussed and shared up to now, highlighting cross-cutting themes and considering some of the areas we hope to investigate further in the future, through designing the Compassion Rounds 2.0 in 2023. A recording of the December webinar and report is available here. Additionally, here you can find our collective reflections on the 11 rounds we have hosted so far, over the past few years. The document is an analysis of six themes: motivation, connection and community, systems alignment, power and control, respect and dignity, and self-care and self-efficacy. |
