Our ART-AST competition is back! The competition is now open and we are inviting all Gold Coast students to take part by submitting artwork celebrating our active school travel themes of:

  • walking
  • wheeling
  • catching public transport
  • carpooling
  • road safety.

There are prizes up for grabs for the Junior (Prep to Year 3) and Senior (Year 4-6) category winners and their schools.

Winners will receive a Garmin Vivofit Activity Tracker and a $500 VISA Debit card for their school to put towards active travel. 

Finalists will also have their artworks featured in the 2023 ART-AST calendar available to all Gold Coast schools. Download the entry form and poster on our website, with entries closing Tuesday 19 July.

Mudgeeraba WRC closure

In preparation for the Mudgeeraba Cemetery expansion, the Mudgeeraba Waste and Recycling Centre will permanently close to the public 1 July 2022. Larger premium WRC's are available to residents, located a short drive away at Merrimac and near Reedy Creek. Both alternate centres offer additional facilities like Recycle Street and a Green Organics Drop and Go.
