QLDC Winter Road Report - 29 September 2023

Ata mārie  good morning everybody,

Well, our attempt to end our regular Winter Road Reports was short lived, and we're back!

Just a short one from us today, with an update that an active front is moving across the district, with showers, possibly heavy from afternoon as westerlies turn southerly.  The snow level should lower to about 700m later in the day.

That aside,  we've got positive temperatures in the Wakatipu and Wānaka Basin this morning, with dry roads right now and no issues to report.

We're watching the weather over the next few days and if the weather stays cold and conditions require it, we'll be back with reports on Saturday and Sunday too.

Go safely on your journey and enjoy your Friday :)

DISCLAIMER:  Road conditions during winter can change at any time. Our advice is to always carry chains, slow down and drive to the conditions. We will always do our best to give you the most up-to-date conditions for key commuter roads, but we can't drive every road in the district before 7.00am.  Remember, if it's snowing, this slows us down too and these reports should never replace common sense.
