Community StoryPolice Helping Kids Have a Blast What started as a casual game of cricket has grown into a powerful way to connect. A Loganlea Community Police Beat officer is using sport to build trust and teach self-respect to students at Waterford West State School. Through weekly games, kids are learning teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour in a fun and supportive environment. When: ![]() When: Micro-Credential: Understanding and responding to homelessness TAFE Queensland, in collaboration with Q Shelter, offers a free online micro-credential to help participants understand the Australian housing system and the realities of homelessness. The course covers housing insecurity, causes and impacts of homelessness, and how to respond using best-practice approaches. Got a great idea to support men’s health or people living with disability in Logan? Funding is available! With International Men’s Day and Disability Action Week coming up, Council is looking to support projects that create real, lasting change for our community. Don’t forget to bring your yoga mat or towel! When: Mondays, 11:30am Funding OpportunitiesApplications are now open for Round 2 of the 2025–26 Kickstarter Grants Program. Community organisations are invited to apply for funding to support innovative early intervention initiatives aimed at reducing youth crime. Grants of up to $300,000 are available for programs that reconnect young people with education, training, and employment, and address early criminal behaviours through community-led solutions. Applications close: Wednesday 10 September 2025 Applications and Expressions of Interest are now open for RACQ Community Recovery & Resilience Grants. RACQ Foundation helps Queensland community groups, charities, organisations, First Nations Councils and clubs impacted by natural disasters. This includes both recovery grants and resilience-based project grants which may relate to physical, nature-based and social solutions. With up to $25,000 available to individual projects, RACQ Foundation encourages eligible organisations to apply. Applications close: 5pm, Friday 12 September 2025 Applications are now open for the Reconnection, Employment and Learning (REAL) Program – Phase 1. Funded by the Australian Government, this program supports First Nations people transitioning from the justice system by offering mentoring, employment, education, and cultural reconnection services. Eligible organisations are invited to apply via an open competitive process. Applications close: 9pm, Monday 15 September 2025 Applications are now open for the Music for All - Individual Grants. Music for All is offering grants of up to $1,000 to help individuals access musical instruments, lessons, or other music-making opportunities. Whether you're a beginner, experienced musician, or applying on behalf of someone else, this grant aims to break down barriers and support musical dreams. Open to Australian citizens and residents, with applications accepted online only. Applications close: Tuesday, 30 September 2025 Applications are now open for the Community Road Safety Education Grants. Funded by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, these one-off grants of up to $40,000 support not-for-profit organisations - including schools, P&Cs, councils, and community groups -to deliver local road safety education initiatives. The program helps Queensland communities develop practical solutions that promote safer road use and positive behaviour change. Applications close: 5pm AEST, Tuesday 30 September 2025 Applications are now open for NAB Foundation Community Grants. These grants offer up to $25,000 for local projects that help communities prepare for, withstand, and recover from natural disasters. Eligible initiatives may include training, community recovery programs, environmental restoration, and infrastructure improvements. Charities, social enterprises, and community organisations with a charitable purpose are encouraged to apply.
