COMMUNITY UPDATE Meet Strathfield's Citizen of the Year 2026 Dinesh Garg Wow, what a surprise! For a person who prefers to work quietly in the background, almost never seeking the limelight, this was overwhelming. I thank the Council for this very pleasant surprise. I feel honoured and humbled to receive the Strathfield Citizen of the Year award for something that I am passionate about and enjoy doing the most. I must say that my thanks are not only for the certificate that I received, but also for the acknowledgement and recognition of an ordinary everyday person, working voluntarily and sincerely to contribute towards the health, happiness and integration of the community in the local area, in whatever small way a person can. This honour shows to all of us that community work can be very rewarding and our Council is very well tuned to it.
