Free Trees

Every year our Free Tree Program gives our residents the opportunity to choose from a selection of native trees and shrubs to plant in their own backyard.

Our 2023 collection dates and locations are now available.

Residents can collect up to 3 free trees per household which must be planted within your own property.

If you will be collecting trees for more than one property, you will need to provide a current rates notice for each property.

Benefits of growing local native plants:
• attract native birds to your garden
• native plants are adapted to the local conditions and often need less water
• provide the most suitable source of food and habitat for local wildlife.

Traffic offences near schools

Just a reminder for the start of the school year.

Top offences

It is an offence to stop:

  • 20 metres before or 10 metres after a sign posted pedestrian or supervised children’s crossing
  • 20 metres before or 10 metres after a bus stop or within a bus zone (bayed area)
  • within 10 metres of an intersection or corner
  • on a footpath or nature strip within a built-up area
  •  in a way that restricts access to a driveway
  •  in a no parking zone for more than 2 minutes, in a no stopping zone, or on a yellow painted line
  • double parked at any time, as it blocks visibility and causes cars to overtake each other to proceed, creating a traffic hazard.
