Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you to those who have registered with the Easy Fundraising platform, the donations have already started to come in!

For those who haven’t, this platform allows us to turn everyday online shopping into donations for the school which can then be spent on equipment and facilities. If you haven’t registered yet and are happy to help (at no cost to you!), we ask that you do two things:

1. Sign up to Easy Fundraising and register School 21 as your cause of choice here: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/invite/GO6EW2/
(We get a £5 donation for every person that signs up via that link!).

2. Install the donation reminder on your computer: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/donation-reminder/
This is a totally unobtrusive button that sits on your internet bar, and pops up with a subtle reminder every time you shop with a retailer that donates to us.

Finally, please share with any family and friends.

Thanks so much

All at School 21

Spare Clothes

If your child has borrowed any clothes from our spare clothes box please bring them back as soon as possible as we have very little left. (eg if they have wet themselves)

If you have any trousers, skirts or tights that you could donate that would be wonderful.

Also if you would like to donate new children’s underwear that would be amazing.

Amazing Aliens!

This week in Reception we have been continuing our space project by learning more about the planet Saturn. We read a lot of stories about aliens and have responded by using different materials to make our own wonderful creatures. We then thought about what the aliens might say to each other and wrote speech bubbles.

Elsewhere in Reception, there has been some amazing writing this week and we can’t wait to see what you get up to over half term!

Nice Lice

This week in Year 1 we let some woodlice free in our classroom! We are studying different habitats as part of our unit on 'living things' and have devised an experiment to see if wood lice like dark, damp or light environments most. We will spend the week observing them before delivering our final results!

What was Rationing?

This week in Year 2 we have started exploring what rationing was in World War 2 and how it affected different people. We explored how for some people rationing actually meant they got more food.  We're looking forward to cooking some rationing recipes after half term!

Investigation Time!

In Maths and Science this week in Year 4 we have been collaboratively planning and carrying out investigations!

Numbers day came first, we used the book 'The lions share' to see what would happen to a cake if it was passed around a group with everyone taking a half of what's left. It was so interesting to see how small the pieces became very quickly, one group found 1/16558 of the cake!

In science, we designed our own tests to see how muscle strength may be affected by regular exercise - we collected and analysed our own data. Thank you for everyone's hard work and effort this half term, we hope everyone has a restful break.

Clara Community Certificate Winners

Well done to those students who went above and beyond in showing our value of community this week!

Clara is very proud of Haleema, Luca, Kareeca, Ayman, Mikaeel, Ashpika, Eva, Salahdin, Michael, Yameen, Noor, Lacy, Avi, Jordan and Naomi.

Next week's value: Responsibility.  Can your child tell you how they can show this value and earn a certificate?
