Strathfield eNews No images? Click here 23 March 2023Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield I had the pleasure of attending Council’s Harmony Day celebrations this Tuesday and was joined by many members of our diverse community. It was a wonderful opportunity to embrace and celebrate various cultures as attendees wore traditional outfits, brought in culinary treats and made teas unique to their culture. We left the celebrations with full hearts (and stomachs) and an increased appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up the Strathfield community. I attended the opening of the Ironbark Gallery’s latest exhibition, Painting on Mondays, which drew in a large crowd as attendees saw the artistic talents of Catriona Grant and Megan Winch first hand. Catriona and Megan have explored art making in many forms, together and apart, endeavouring to capture the beauty around them, both natural and created. I encourage you to pop into the Ironbark Gallery before the exhibition ends on 30 April 2023. Lastly, I’m excited for an upcoming event Council will host in Strathfield Square. Keep your eyes peeled for more details as the Square will come to life with cultural performances, live music, roaming entertainment, different cuisines provided by local businesses and much more in late April. I am always available if you need assistance with any local matters.
