The monthly E-News shares provincial program information and updates about the Facility Engagement (FE) Initiative. This information will be of interest to Medical Staff Association (MSA) support teams, so please feel free to forward the newsletter to your MSA executives as needed.
FE Financial Reporting Deadline
ACTION: Next financial reporting deadline: October 31, 2022.
MSA physician societies are required to reconcile their financials quarterly at minimum to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting. This also ensures that the FE program has accurate information on program spending.
Physician societies only are requested to provide the following documents within 30 days of the end of each quarter.
- Balance sheet.
- Income statement from your accounting software*.
*If you are using QuickBooks, the external financial system report is called the Profit and Loss Report and for Sage users it is called the Balanced Income Statement.
- Please send the above documents to engagement@doctorsofbc.ca no later than October 31, 2022.
- For additional reconciliation support, please refer to the Facility Engagement website.
If you are unable to meet the deadline or require further support, please contact engagement@doctorsofbc.ca.
SEAT: Deadline Reminders
Friendly reminder that the next SEAT submission deadline for quarters 1 and 2 is October 15th.
Please update your SEAT designated engagement activities in FEMS with any significant milestones that occurred over the last six months before the deadline. Also, as mentioned in the last E-News, as of October 31, 2022, due to popular request to increase accessibility, password protection on the SEAT database will be removed.
Please review your SEAT-designated engagement activities in FEMS before the next October 15th SEAT submission deadline to ensure entries are accurate and appropriate for sharing on the public-facing FE website. Adjust as you see fit or if you do not wish to have activities shown in the public-facing database, move the SEAT toggle to NO (in FEMS).

Annual Review/Site Review and Reporting Process (SRRP) 2022-23
It’s time to start planning for the 2022-23 annual SRRP!
The SRRP is an opportunity for sites to:
- Support MSA and HA discussions on successes, challenges and learnings over the past year,
- Support earlier opportunities for two-way sharing of HA/MSA 2023/24 priority setting, and
- Equip the FE Initiative with relevant information to meet their fiduciary duties and inform program planning and management.
All sites will receive an email with the SRRP package information and instructions during the week of October 17th.
Please keep a look out for the email, and contact engagement@doctorsofbc.ca if you do not receive it.
FE will be running an optional webinar to review the SRRP instructions package. It is scheduled for Thursday, November 17th from 11am-12pm.

PM Helpdesk Lunch and Learn Library
The FE provincial office, in conjunction with the PM Helpdesk Consultant, Erica Kjekstad, have created a library document of all of the past lunch and learn sessions from 2021.
The 2022 library document is now live and will continue to be updated each month with current information. The September 2022 session on Welcoming Physicians, as well as FEMS Financial Overview is included.
